Pre-season shenanigans…

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

So, yesterday I had a follow up with my doctor and I was officailly cleared for returning to snowboarding at ten am. Within three hours I had driven to the other side of Lake Tahoe, rounded up the boys and driven to a not so secret spot down near Kirkwood…

This was shot at ‘The Patch’ made famous through the summer antics found in the bonus sections in First Tracks Productions last couple of movies. This is what made it through the summer, that’s last years snow we’re jibbing on!

For the sake of decency and standards this is the only shot I’m going to post. You’ll just have to imagine all of the AMAZING and SPECTACULAR tricks that were thrown yesterday. Trust me it was impressive. I mean, just look at that set up…

For your enjoyment purposes I present you with Nickoolio and Musle Man Mesnick hard at work while I capture the action…

Oh, here’s a tip for you kids- if you’re going to drive WAY out to the edge of a wilderness area, miles and miles from civilization and cell phone service DO NOT lock your keys in the car. It’s been decided that even if someone else in the group locks them in your, it is still your fault. Apparently it’s the owners responsibility to retain posession of the keys at all times.

Let me tell you- Hiking up through treeline all by yourself at ten o’clock at night on a full moon is not cool. Being alone at night surrounded by a pack of coyotes while your friend waits in the Subaru a good three miles away is a tad unnerving. Seriously.

Thats all I’m going to say about that one. Note to self- put spare key back into snowboard pants.

Jurassic Park Invitational

So, Boreal hosted their JPI rail jam on Saturday.

I’d tell you all about it but since my doctor basicly outlawed me from competeing I stayed away from it and worked some overtime to pay for my season passes. I tend to get bitter watching people ride in events I was supposed to be in… I just can’t seem to help it.

GIV’s own Zak Shellhammer was there throwing down though. Read all about it at

http://www.snowboard-mag.com/node/27583

Zak has a picture in there…and a bunch more at

And since I stole the header photo from Snowboard revolution I should probably give you this link to- http://www.snowboard-revolution.com/news/2007-Boreal-Jibassic-Invitational-Rail-Jam-Results.html

Whoa…

Here in Tahoe even the wildlife gets extreme! I didn’t take these, but these are some amazing shots.

A bear was walking across Rainbow Bridge (Old Hwy 40 at Donner Summit, Truckee) on Saturday when two cars also crossing the bridge scared the bear into jumping over the edge. Somehow the bear caught the ledge and was able to pull itself to safety. Authorities decided that nothing could be done to help Saturday night so they returned Sunday morning to find the bear sound asleep on the ledge.  After securing a net under the bridge the bear was tranquilized, fell into the net, lowered, then woke up and walked away…

“Have It” Denver premiere…

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

Mark your calenders- September 13th is the first premier of At Once Productions newest release- Have It.

I’d expect this to be a pretty big party- Both At Once and the riders in the video have strong Colorado ties. Expect a strong showing from the Never Summer boys both in the video and in the crowd. (No- I won’t be in the video, thanks to the jackass that took all my footage to South America without giving copies to me OR any of the producers I gave him contact info for!)

Doors open at 7 and the show starts at 8pm. It’s a 16 and up event, don’t forget to bring an ID, especially if your old enough to hit up the bar inside.      You can buy tickets in advance for $6 through the Gothics website by clicking here-

http://www.gothictheatre.com/show/detail/7668

I’ll get a link to the teaser for the video up tomorrow, until then you can get more info by hitting At Once up over at the ‘Space- www.myspace.com/AtOnceProductions

I’ll post the other premier dates as they are set. Snowboard kids, hot chicks, live music and tons of free schwag- let the good times roll!
